Yoga means “union.” Nidra means “sleep.” Yoga Nidra is a state between sleep and deep relaxation. It is a systematic method of inducing deep physical, mental, and emotional relaxation. The practice is done while lying down on one’s back. The eyes are closed and the body made completely comfortable. It involves deep relaxation with inner awareness while the instructor leads a guided session with his/her voice. The teacher uses auto-suggestion cues, visualization, and affirmation to create an environment in which healing can occur.








University of Holistic Theology - Vipassana Certified Meditation Instructor  

The C.MI™ Meditation Instructor Certification is an intensive program of study in the practice and instruction of Buddhist rooted, Vipassana, mindfulness meditation. Students must complete a series of course assignments (required reading, associated written work, section review testing, etc.), along with 60 hours of documented and reviewed practice (in 20-hour segments), discussion forum participation, and a final exam. The course takes approximately 9-months (on average) to complete successfully. All coursework must individually receive a minimum passing grade of 75% - with a minimum final course grade of 75% - in order to qualify for certification. There are an estimated 160 total course contact hours for the full C.MI course. C.MI is under the direction of Stephen Rinaldi, D.MT., and certified by the University of Holistic Theology (UHT) - and a Provider of the IAMI (International Association of Meditation Instructors).
